SAN DIEGO, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- General Dynamics NASSCO announced construction for a tanker to be built for SEA-Vista Newbuild, a subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings.
The construction formally began after Gregory Doyle of SEACOR pressed a button signaling the cutting of the first piece of steel. Once constructed, the tankers will be 610-feet long. The company says the boats will be the most fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly tankers in the world, offering improved fuel efficiency and the most up-to-date environmental protection features, including the Ballast Water Treatment System and reduced emissions.
