Navy picks MIL Corporation for communications support

Satellite communications, RF and video technologies of the U.S. Navy are to receive engineering and other support services from MIL Corporation of Maryland.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- The MIL Corporation has been tapped by the U.S. Navy to provide engineering and other services in support of SATCOM, RF, video, and networking technologies.

The contract, worth $57.3 million, is for five years and was issued by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division for it Special Communications Requirements Division, or SCR, 4.11.4.

MIL said that under the award its Command, Control, Communications and Computers Integrated Systems Sector will provide engineering and technical services in support of the rapid design, development, integration, testing, evaluation, installation, fielding, certification and maintenance of the systems.

Logistics, and operational support of satellite communications, RF, video, and networking technologies will also be provided.

"This opportunity builds upon our enduring and productive relationship supporting the SCR Division," stated Program Manager Tom Clark. "By selecting the MIL team, SCR will increase their ability to deliver leading edge SATCOM systems and engineering services to their warfighting sponsors."

MIL said its team for the contract work includes subcontractors. They include AV3; By Light; EMW; iDirect Government Technologies; and Zekiah Technologies.
