KONYA, Turkey, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- The Turkish Air Force has received the third of four Peace Eagle Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft from the United States.

Boeing said the aircraft, which is based on the 737 platform, was delivered earlier this month to Konya Air Base on schedule.

The Peace Eagle AEW&C is a twin-engine aircraft with an active electronically scanned array radar antenna instead of a rotating one. It carries a crew of six to 10 people, has a cruise speed of 530 miles per hour and a range of 3,500 nautical miles. Its ceiling is 41,000 feet. It is capable of simultaneous tracking of both maritime and aerial targets.

Boeing said it is scheduled to deliver the fourth and final aircraft ordered next year under a contract that also provides for ground support segments for mission crew training, mission support and system maintenance.

Additional details of Turkey's Peace Eagle acquisition program were not disclosed.
