CHANTILLY, Va., April 23 (UPI) -- The SI Organization Inc., an analytical and technical expertise company, is acquiring QinetiQ North America Services and Solutions Group.

The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions and government regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the second quarter of this year. Financial terms of the deal, however, were not disclosed.

"The acquisition of QNA/SSG accelerates the SI's vision to be a leader in the design, development, integration and operation of complex, mission-critical information systems across the government,” said Mac Curtis, chief executive officer of the SI. “This transaction creates an opportunity to greatly scale our presence in market adjacencies such as DOD (Department of Defense), DHS (Department of Homeland Security), NASA and federal civilian agencies.

“QinetiQ North America SSG has an exceptional, customer-focused team and we are excited to welcome them to the SI's family."

QinetiQ North America SSG is a technology and responsive services and solutions business located in Virginia. It is a subsidiary of Britain’s QinetiQ Group PLC and specializes in supporting U.S. government entities. It has about 2,800 employees.

“The combination of the SI and QNA/SSG brings together two highly complementary companies, each a recognized leader in systems engineering and integration, engineering services and solutions, and creates an organization uniquely qualified to meet the market demand for technology-enabled offerings in the areas of cyber security, analytics, software development and IT solutions,” the SI said.
