MADRID, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Airbus Military reports its services logistic hub is up and running for delivery of spare parts worldwide and for delivery of fleet ground equipment.
The center is located in Seville, Spain. It is certified by the Spanish agency for aviation safety on behalf of its European counterpart, EASA, and is capable of fulfilling customer requests for spare parts in five days.
"Putting in place this services logistics hub will reduce our delivery lead-times and guarantee fleet availability," said Philippe Galland, head of the company's services unit. "We will be more competitive thanks to the cost reduction [of having the central logistics hub] and customer satisfaction will also improve."
Airbus Military said full integration of all logistics services for spare parts at the center will reduce its recurring operating costs by more than $676,000 annually.
The center is 89,300 square feet and has 100 workers who manage some 22,500 parts numbers. Dispatch operations of the hub are performed by logistic provider Kuehne&Nagel.
