MELBOURNE, Fla., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- The Harris Corp. reports it's supplying a range of tactical radios to countries working with the U.S. military to stop international drug trafficking.
The specific identities of the countries weren't disclosed. Harris, however, said they are international partners of U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Northern Command.
The orders are part of a four-year contract awarded by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command and are worth $11 million.
"Harris Falcon radios provide an international standard for interoperable communications that will enhance coordination and cooperation between U.S. forces and their partners,'' said Brendan O'Connell, president, international business, Harris RF Communications.
"Our world-class solutions provide advanced situational awareness and command and control that will help address the very real problem of illicit trafficking.''
Radios to be provided include the Falcon III RF-7800S Secure Personal system, RF-7800V Combat Net radios, Falcon II RF-5800H High Frequency and RF-5800M multiband radios.
"The radios will support collaboration and communications interoperability between U.S. and partner forces," Harris said.
