Canadian companies to support CH-147s

OTTAWA, July 26 (UPI) -- L-3 Communications MAS and General Dynamics Canada have been selected by Boeing to provide in-service support for Canadian CH-147F Chinook helicopters.

L-3 MAS, which received an In-Service Support Program contract in January for technical publications, will provide support and test equipment under the new award, while General Dynamics Canada will provide maintenance training suite/contractor maintenance support.

"Boeing looks forward to continuing to build and strengthen our relationship with both the Canadian forces and Canadian industry as we add to our growing list of performance-based logistics customers around the world," said Jim O'Neill, vice president and general manager, Boeing Integrated Logistics.

Boeing said that through Canada's Industrial and Regional Benefits Policy, the CH-147F In-Service Support Program will bring about $2 billion in benefits to Canadian industry over 20 years.

Added David Ibbetson, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Canada: "Our experience developing and managing In-Service Support programs has provided us with valuable expertise in the areas of courseware development, training devices and support.
