BRV-O features a blast-tested crew capsule and modular armor, self-leveling suspension system, a C4ISR backbone with open-standard networked architecture and clustered super-computing power, and other advanced components. It is powered by a six-cylinder, 3.2 turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower.

AM General LLC, said the BRV-O was developed and tested over the course of more than a decade using its own financial resources and meets or exceeds all of JLTV EMD phase evaluation criteria.

AM General LLC said its Engineering and Product Development Center is backing two proposals for the Engineering, Manufacturing and Development phase of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle program -- a project by the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Special Operations Command to replace the Humvee.
