SEATTLE, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Tideworks Technology has been selected to provide the U.S. Defense Department's Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point with a terminal upgrade.
U.S. company Tideworks was awarded a contract from North Carolina-based Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, or MOTSU. The award follows a successful 2006 contract for a customized information technology solution.
Under the deal, Tideworks will shift the terminals from a UNIX system to a Linux-based system and provide application systems support at MOTSU in a move by the munitions shipment handling base to increase efficiency.
"We've worked with Tideworks in the past and were extremely pleased with the company's willingness and ability to adapt its technology solutions to meet our specific needs," Sammie Wells, MOTSU IT director, said in a statement.
