BINGEN, Wash., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- U.S. company Insitu announced it has partnered with Corsair Engineering Inc. to offer unmanned aircraft system operations training services.
Boeing subsidiary Insitu and Corsair have developed a UAS Integrated Learning Environment to train people on UAS operations and maintenance requirements.
Insitu, the developer of the widely deployed ScanEagle UAS technology, says the ILE training integrates interactive computer-based training, instructor lessons and mission simulation scenarios. Officials say the new training is part of an effort to meet growing military and civil defense UAS personnel needs.
"The UAS community has grown so rapidly that operators have had to receive the bulk of their training during actual missions," Mary Margaret Evans, Insitu vice president of sustainment operations and general manager, said in a statement.
"Noticing this deficit of full-spectrum combat training, we decided to develop an ILE that fully prepares operators for in- theatre challenges -- raising the standard throughout the industry."
