IRVING, Texas, July 22 (UPI) -- EF Johnson Technologies Inc. has been selected to deliver its radio technology to support the requirements of a U.S. Defense Department contractor.
Texas-based EF Johnson Technologies was awarded the contract to deliver its ES Series Project 25 compliant mobile radios and accessories. Officials say the award, from an undisclosed defense contractor, is worth $900,000.
The ES Series is designed to meet the U.S. military's need for a radio technology that can withstand rugged operational environments.
"Military users need interoperable, reliable, rugged, standards-based communications solutions," Michael Jalbert, EF Johnson Technologies president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"Our award-winning ES Series of mobile radios meet the military specifications for extreme temperatures, vibration, and shock. They have passed interoperability tests at government facilities, in independent test labs, in the labs of our competitors, and in everyday field use."
