PORTLAND, Ore., July 21 (UPI) -- U.S. company HemCon Medical Technologies Inc. announced the launch of its new emergency wound dressing designed to support medical services on the battlefield.
Bandage solutions developer HemCon Tuesday launched its new ChitoGauze dressing platform to support battlefield emergency care and stop severe arterial bleeding.
Officials say the new ChitoGauze dressing, a 4-inch by 4-yard flexible conforming gauze, is designed with a z-fold pleat making it easier and quicker to dress wounds in a time-critical environment.
"Over our long and strong relationship with the U.S. Army, HemCon has teamed with military medical professionals to understand the latest field requirements and deliver what is needed," Bill Block, HemCon president, said in a statement.
