Under the $10.2 million award, General Dynamics will provide the AN/BYG-1 submarine combat system with weapons control system upgrades. Officials say the hardware upgrade work for the AN/BYG-1 combat system is for several classes of submarines.

"By leveraging our experience from our work on other U.S. Navy submarine weapon control contracts, we will deliver a highly reliable and innovative solution that will significantly improve the warfighter's capabilities," Lou Von Thaer, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems president, said in a statement.
