ST. LOUIS, July 16 (UPI) -- Kaman Aerospace Corp. has contracted U.S. company LaBarge Inc. to provide wiring harness technology for installation on Black Hawk helicopters.
Kaman Aerospace is under a contract with Sikorsky to support the company's Black Hawk helicopter program. As part of the contract, Kaman Aerospace awarded LaBarge approximately $12 million for the company to deliver its cockpit wiring harnesses.
Officials say the LaBarge cockpit wiring harnesses will be installed in the UH-60M and UH-60L Black Hawk medevac helicopter variants deployed by the U.S. Army for emergency medical evacuation operations in combat zones.
According to a news release, production work on the cockpit wiring harnesses deal is expected to take place at LaBarge's Joplin, Mo., facility in August 2009 and continue through December 2010.
