FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 14 (UPI) -- Information technology enterprise company CSC has been invited to join a U.S. Defense Department pilot program for cybersecurity initiatives.
U.S. company CSC has signed an agreement with the Defense Department to become a member of the Defense Industrial Base program. By joining the DIB program CSC will participate in initiatives to secure sensitive U.S. defense networks from cyberattacks.
Under the agreement CSC will support efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Defense Department and industry professionals on cybersecurity and Internet-based threats to the United States.
"Cyber attacks are one of the biggest threats to our nation and global economic partners, and CSC is one of the leading IT companies that serves both public sector and private sector firms," David McCue, CSC chief information officer, said in a statement.
"As a major provider of IT outsourcing and infrastructure support for the Defense Department and many of the companies in the defense industrial base, CSC's proactive approach to cyber security will aid our clients as they implement their own agreements with the Defense Department."
