CH2M Hill to help address munitions issues

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md., July 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted CH2M Hill to provide the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland with environmental remediation services.

The Multiple Award Military Munitions Services contract, which supports the Army Environmental Command, is for Colorado-based CH2M Hill to support environmental remediation requirements at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.

The five-year deal is part of the Army's Remedial Investigation at 12 Military Munitions Response Program sites and is designed to address safety and environmental issues from past munitions activities.

According to a news release, Congress "established the MMRP under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program to address unexploded ordnance, discarded military munitions and munitions constituents located on current and former defense sites."
