Goodrich honored with DSS' Cogswell award

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has honored Goodrich Corp. with a 2009 James Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award.

U.S. company Goodrich says its Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems business received the 2009 Cogswell award from the Defense Security Service at the Defense Department.

The Cogswell award, the Defense Security Service's highest honor, is designed to recognize outstanding security practices based on rigorous National Industrial Security Program standards.

"We are honored to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to excellence in our partnership with Defense Security Services in protecting the nation's vital information, and I commend our team for their diligence in this important endeavor," Andreas Nonnenmacher, vice president of Goodrich ISR Systems in Danbury, Conn., said in a statement.
