ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 30 (UPI) -- CNA announced Monday the promotion of former U.S. Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Sherri Goodman to the organization's senior vice president position.
Virginia-based CNA announced its recognition of Goodman's leadership capabilities and promoted her from vice president to senior vice president, general counsel and board secretary.
Goodman, a former deputy undersecretary of defense from 1993 until 2001, will also continue her role as the CNA's Military Advisory Board executive director.
"Sherri's initiation of CNA's Military Advisory Board has provided an opportunity for the Military Advisory Board to combine assessment of information on energy security and climate change with the expertise of senior military officers in national security to find the place where they intersect," Robert Murray, CNA president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"I appreciate Sherri's leadership and business acumen in this and many other leading-edge initiatives. Her promotion recognizes her talent and value to CNA."
