SAIC contracted to support Army Corps

MCLEAN, Va., June 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has contracted Science Applications International Corp. to provide environmental support services.

U.S. company SAIC was awarded the contract from the Army Corps of Engineers-Mobile District, South Atlantic Division. Under the $10 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, SAIC will provide environmental support services to military civil and federal agencies.

Officials say SAIC will specifically provide the Army Corps of Engineers-Mobile District, South Atlantic Division, responsible for managing military construction, water resources, and environmental programs for an eight state region in the southeastern, with architecture and engineering services supporting environmental requirements.

"We look forward to providing broad environmental compliance support to help Army Corps of Engineers continue to accomplish their critical mission of providing vital public engineering services to strengthen our nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters," J.T. Grumski, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
