NORWALK, Conn., June 29 (UPI) -- LifeStorage has contracted Defentect to deliver its security platform and sensor technologies for use at indoor self-storage facilities in Chicago.
U.S. company Defentect was awarded a follow-on contract from LifeStorage for the delivery of its DM3, a management, monitoring and messaging software platform, and Gammatect radiation sensor technologies.
LifeStorage contracted Defentect for its DM3 and Gammatect technologies for installation at 10 indoor self-storage facilities in Chicago. The contract follows an initial $20,000 order from LifeStorage for Defentect's chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threat detection technologies in March.
"We've taken this step to expand our original plan for a comprehensive security strategy," Christopher Barry LifeStorage Centers partner, said in a statement.
"This is something our whole industry should do."
