LM develops Airborne Multi-INT platform

BETHESDA, Md., June 15 (UPI) -- U.S. company Lockheed Martin announced it has developed a new research and testing platform for emerging intelligence and communications technologies.

Lockheed Martin has developed its Airborne Multi-INT (multiple-intelligence) Laboratory test bed. The AML is designed to support command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance testing and experimentation.

Officials say the AML offers a testing platform to advance C4ISR for the military and homeland security markets and accelerate delivery of mission critical capabilities to soldiers in the field.

"The AML will be a key asset in furthering our ability to develop, test and field rapidly deployable capabilities that warfighters need in the field today," John Mengucci, Lockheed Martin's Information Systems and Global Services-Defense president, said in a statement.

"It is important to note this is not about proving the value of multi-INT or mobile communications -- that is the state of the practice. This is about expediting our ability to provide intelligence across the full spectrum of conflict."
