BEAVERTON, Ore., June 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency has selected GemStone Systems to help support data management for strengthened situational awareness.
U.S. company GemStone Systems was selected to work with Northrop Grumman as part of a deal from DISA to support the Global Command and Control System-Joint Program Office. Officials say GemStone will deliver its GemFire for integration with Northrop Grumman's Agile Client that provides the GCCS-J with three-dimensional views of geographic referenced data.
GemStone says its GemFire data management technology will support the Agile Client with continuous real-time visibility and situational awareness of military actions.
"As the information technology systems for monitoring troop movement and military activity become more comprehensive and sophisticated with each passing year, the need to access information in real-time has become absolutely necessary for the U.S. military to do its job," Brian LaRoche, director of Joint Command and Control Programs for Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector's Defense Systems Division, said in a statement.
