F4W launches interoperable technology

LAKE MARY, Fla., June 8 (UPI) -- U.S. company F4W Inc. announced the launch of its new homeland security software solution designed to support interoperable emergency response.

F4W says it has launched its System of Systems communications technology as part of an effort to address requirements of the U.S. Homeland Security Department's National Emergency Response Interoperability Framework.

The System of Systems, based on the company's Energo Technology, is designed to enable interoperable communications with data, voice and video. F4W launched its new technology at the Empire Disaster Response and Management Exercise in New York.

"Interoperability has been an industry buzz word the last few years. The majority of our competitors have focused on the land mobile radio market," Harry Timmons, F4W president, said in a statement.

"For F4W, true interoperability allows for data, voice and video exchange between agencies within an incident site. Better yet, anyone located anywhere in the world who needs to communicate with the incident area should be able to and we deliver that."
