FORT MONMOUTH, N.J., May 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has selected Raytheon to compete for task orders supporting the Army Battle Command System's capabilities.
U.S. company Raytheon will lead a team that was selected to participate in a U.S. Army Battle Command Development indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract vehicle.
Under the contract, managed by the Army Communications and Electronics Command, the Raytheon team will compete for Army Battle Command System task orders supporting network-centric, service-oriented architecture.
Officials say the multi-award contract vehicle has task orders worth up to $777.4 million.
"The use of battle command products in current conflicts and in future Army modernization efforts is critical, making this effort particularly important," Andy Zogg, Raytheon Network Centric Systems Command and Control Systems vice president, said in a statement.
"Our aim is to put real solutions in the hands of our soldiers quickly."
