LGS to support Army installation upgrades

VIENNA, Va., May 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted LGS to provide two Army installations with communications infrastructure upgrade support services.

U.S. company LGS was awarded the Army contract to provide communications infrastructure upgrades including network integration and other professional services as part of the Infrastructure Modernization contract vehicle.

Under the $6.3 million contract, LGS will provide the upgrades at Ft. Richardson in Alaska and also at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Officials say the upgrades are part of the Army's next-generation telecommunications infrastructure at installations around the world.

"LGS is pleased to continue to deliver high-quality communications upgrade solutions to the U.S. Army … in both of these projects, LGS will deliver critical logistic support and project management while satisfying sophisticated technical requirements to ensure that the quality, performance, cost and schedule goals are met," Ron Iverson, LGS chief executive officer, said in a statement.
