SAN MATEO, Calif., May 18 (UPI) -- Italian company Finmeccanica announced plans to expand use of an online, interactive virtual-environment training platform.
Finmeccanica said its Selex Systems Integration business will expand its use of the On-Line Interactive Virtual Environment training platform from Forterra Systems to support training for armed forces.
Ambient Performance, Forterra Systems' distributor of the OLIVE training technology in Europe, said it will support the expanded OLIVE use by Selex Systems Integration.
"We are working with Ambient Performance and the Forterra Systems OLIVE virtual-world platform to support the increased requirement for collaborative training across distributed locations," Ian Govier, Selex Systems Integration's head of future solutions, said in a statement.
"OLIVE provides us with a secure and reliable tool that enables us to rapidly prototype new training solutions that can be provided to distributed users."
