GREENBELT, Md., May 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has contracted Gryphon Technologies LC to support the Chemical Biological Defense-Individual Protection Equipment Program.
U.S. company Gryphon Technologies was awarded the contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division. Under the $72.2 million deal, Gryphon Technologies will provide the CBD-IPE program with logistic and technical support services.
According to a news release, Gryphon Technologies will also be required to help the CBD-IPE program maintain readiness while "facing the demands of a wartime posture."
"This is an exciting and unique opportunity in support of the national military strategy," P.J. Braden, Gryphon Technologies president, said in a statement.
"Gryphon is privileged to support the Navy in the deployment of revolutionary protective equipment to the war fighter that is operationally effective and suitable."
