L-3 to continue B-2 training support

NEW YORK, May 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has awarded L-3 Communications a follow-on contract to continue supporting the B-2 Training System program.

New York-based L-3 said its Link Simulation & Training division, known has L-3 Link, was contracted by the Air Force's Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Under the $22.8 million deal, L-3 Link will continue to support the B-2 Training System program with logistics and software support. L-3 Link will also be the prime contractor operating the B-2 Training System program support center, among other requirements.

"We look forward to continuing our 20-year relationship with the B-2 operational community," Bob Birmingham, L-3 Link president, said in a statement.

"As a leader in military training and simulation, our highly experienced B-2 team is uniquely positioned to ensure aircrew and maintenance training devices provide a maximum level of training realism."
