Weston-led team completes task order early

WEST CHESTER, Pa., May 11 (UPI) -- A Weston Solutions Inc.-led team has completed a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers munitions-removal task order ahead of schedule.

U.S. company Weston led a team that included Sevenson Environmental Services Inc., Rettew Associates Inc. and Seismic Surveys Inc. The team completed a discarded-military-munitions-removal task order at the public beaches of Surf City and Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.

Weston said that as part of the task order its team removed 1,915 discarded military munitions and other debris almost three weeks ahead of schedule.

"As with every project we complete, our goal is to safely perform our work to the satisfaction of our clients," Patrick McCann, Weston president and chief executive, said in a statement. "Thanks to a strong team effort despite some rather challenging weather conditions, we have been able to exceed this goal and return the beaches to use well in advance of the summer tourist season."
