HILLSBORO, Ore., May 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has accredited a TriQuint Semiconductor facility after meeting product-control and secure-handling standards.
U.S. company TriQuint said its 100mm gallium arsenide facility in Texas has received the Defense Department's Category 1A Trusted Foundry accreditation after meeting stringent standards during all stages of circuit fabrication.
With the accreditation, TriQuint, an integrated circuits developer for defense communications and radar programs, will be able to expand is wide-ranging gallium arsenide circuit-fabrication capabilities.
"This is a major accomplishment," Gailon Brehm, TriQuint director of defense and aerospace product marketing, said in a statement.
"TriQuint's foundry has become one of a very elite group of trusted manufacturers that can fabricate both classified and unclassified circuits for critical Defense Department programs."
