PRINCETON, N.J., May 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has signed a licensing deal with Sarnoff Corp. to use the company's video exploitation and analysis technology.
U.S. company Sarnoff announced it has licensed its trademarked TerraSight system to the Army in a deal that includes servicewide distribution.
The TerraSight system is a video exploitation and analysis technology that supports intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and provides a three-dimensional situational understanding for military decision-makers.
"The global operational success of (unmanned aerial vehicles) and ground sensors has created a mountain of video and data; now the challenge is leveraging that information to produce actionable intelligence," Don Newsome, Sarnoff president and chief executive, said in a statement.
"Using TerraSight, the U.S. Army can cost-effectively implement a servicewide common operating picture."
