WILMINGTON, Mass., May 5 (UPI) -- U.S. company Textron Systems announced its new munitions platform successfully acquired its targets during recent testing.
Textron said its Defense Systems unit successfully tested its Scorpion networked sensor and munitions platform during two events. The Scorpion, a command and control, ground sensor tracking and target-engagement technology, was successful against all six target encounters during the tests.
"Our products are designed to be capable and effective tools in the field," Mark Catizone, Textron Defense Systems senior vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
"The Scorpion will offer war fighters a highly adaptable, yet powerful, platform to help them accomplish their missions more safely and effectively."
The Scorpion testing took place at Fort Devens in Massachusetts and at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
