GD to support TACOM LCMC logistics

FAIRFAX, Va., May 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted General Dynamics to provide logistics support and repair services for small-arms readiness.

U.S. company General Dynamics said its Information Technology unit was awarded the contract from the Army's Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Life Cycle Management Command.

Under the $40 million deal, General Dynamics will provide TACOM LCMC's Small Arms Readiness and Evaluation Teams program with support services, including inspection and maintenance assistance of small arms and other repair and logistics services.

"Ensuring the safety and health of military equipment is an essential element of any defense operation," Zannie Smith, General Dynamics Information Technology Army solutions division senior vice president, said in a statement.

"General Dynamics will provide our utmost support to ensure TACOM LCMC meets its critical mission."
