BILLERICA, Mass., April 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. government has contracted American Science and Engineering Inc. to provide maintenance services for its X-ray technologies.
U.S. company AS&E was awarded a $4.4 million contract from the U.S. government. Under the deal, AS&E will provide support services for its Z Backscatter Van mobile X-ray technologies deployed by the U.S. government.
The Z Backscatter Van is a mobile threat-inspection screening system designed to support emergency response situations and other on-site threat-inspection requirements.
"Receipt of this service and maintenance contract ensures that the U.S. government's (Z Backscatter Vans) will continue to operate at the highest levels of performance for their critical counter-terrorism missions," Anthony Fabiano, AS&E president and chief executive, said in a statement.
