NORWALK, Conn., April 22 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Median Communications for the installation of Defentect radiation-detection technologies.
U.S. company Defentect said its integration partner Median Communications will install a Defentect gamma radiation-detection system following a successful four-day vetting and validation of the technology by the Air Force.
Defentect said its radiation-detection technologies, capable of sensing threat-level radiation, will support the security of aircraft hangars and flight lines at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.
"This contract represents an important milestone for Defentect," Frank O'Connor, Defentect president, said in a statement.
"We're finding acceptance for the Defentect solution across a number of vertical markets, including law enforcement, hospitals, transit centers and self-storage facilities. We continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of Defentect's technology, and this win signals the opening of the U.S. military to our threat-awareness solution."
