HERNDON, Va., April 21 (UPI) -- U.S. companies Lockheed Martin and Harris Corp. announced a new full-motion video-technologies partnership for the defense and intelligence markets.
Lockheed Martin and Harris announced the collaboration as part of an effort to address evolving video-intelligence requirements by defense and intelligence authorities.
Officials said the collaboration agreement will bring together expertise from both Lockheed Martin and Harris to design technologies to better manage and support evaluation of full-motion video intelligence.
"Full-motion video has exceptional potential for intelligence collection and analysis," Jim Kohlhaas, Lockheed Martin Spatial Solutions vice president, said in a statement.
"Thousands of platforms are collecting important video intelligence every day. The challenge is to collect and catalog that huge volume of footage and give analysts the tools they need to find, interpret and share the critical intelligence that can be gleaned from that mountain of data. We're very pleased to be working with Harris on this important initiative."
