KAYSERI, Turkey, April 20 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin has expanded its network of authorized C-130 Hercules aircraft service centers through the addition of a Turkish air force maintenance center.
U.S. company Lockheed Martin announced a deal with Turkish defense officials that adds the Turkish air force 2nd Air Supply and Maintenance Center as an authorized C-130 service center.
The Turkish maintenance center, which becomes the 15th Lockheed Martin-authorized C-130 service center, will support original equipment manufacturer maintenance standards and engineering practices for the C-130 Hercules heavy-lift aircraft.
"Our collaboration with the Turkish air force to open an authorized C-130 regional service center will provide Hercules operators in the region with the latest technical data to keep aircraft operationally effective," Chris Antone, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics vice president of global sustainment business development, said in a statement.
"These partnerships and collaborations are necessities to many organizations around the world who operate Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules aircraft."
