Kairos Autonomi has successful UGS demo

SALT LAKE CITY, April 20 (UPI) -- Kairos Autonomi announced it successfully demonstrated its robotic unmanned ground vehicle technologies for the U.S. Army.

U.S. company Kairos Autonomi said its Pronto4 Strap-on Autonomy unmanned ground system was successfully demonstrated for the Army, marking an advancement for the UGS technology.

During the demonstration, the Pronto4 successfully operated in "multiple unmanned modes" navigating several test courses. Officials said the Pronto4 also demonstrated it was capable of operating as a platform for the U.S. company iRobot's Aware 2.0 robot-intelligence software.

"This demonstration solidifies the Pronto4 as a capable performer of convoy, resupply, training, leader/follower and testing and evaluation missions for the military," Troy Takach, Kairos Autonomi president and chief executive, said in a statement.

"UGV aftermarket kits offer the same level of operability and ruggedized performance as purpose-built systems -- but at a significantly reduced cost."
