ORLANDO, Fla., April 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has placed a second order with Lockheed Martin for its high-fidelity simulators and trainer technologies.
U.S. company Lockheed Martin received a $30.5 million order from the Army as part of a larger contract awarded in August. Under the deal, Lockheed Martin will provide three Close Combat Tactical Trainer Reconfigurable Vehicle Simulators that are designed to offer troops realistic simulated operating environments.
Officials said the announced order also includes seven Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainers and training services for the equipment.
"CCTT RVS and RVTT provide the realistic training environment for reconnaissance and convoy trainers while giving the Army the flexibility to upgrade scenarios to meet future training needs," Jim Craig, a Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support executive, said in a statement.
"It gives us the opportunity to help soldiers reinvent how they prepare for their missions."
