DENVER, April 10 (UPI) -- Savi Technology has extended its asset-management software technologies to address the evolving logistics requirements of the U.S. Defense Department.
U.S. company Savi announced the extension of its SmartChain software with the Integrated Global Unique Identification Enterprise Solution. Savi, a Lockheed Martin subsidiary, said its SmartChain with the I-GUIDES extension will help the Defense Department identify, track and manage its supply-chain logistics.
Officials said the I-GUIDES, originally available from Lockheed Martin, has been widely deployed with the Defense Department and other defense suppliers.
"We're thrilled to be able to incorporate I-GUIDES into our suite of SmartChain asset-management tools because it's the first step in total asset visibility and management, which broadens the value we can deliver to customers who want to optimize the management of their supply-chain assets," David Shannon, Savi senior vice president of strategy, marketing and project management, said in a statement.
