Defense Solutions to support BTR-4s

EXTON, Pa., April 9 (UPI) -- Defense Solutions Inc. has been selected to support a new NATO-compatible armored vehicle set to be manufactured in Ukraine.

U.S. company Defense Solutions announced it will join a team producing the BTR-4 armored personnel carrier, designed to support the military and police markets.

Officials said Defense Solutions will provide the BTR-4, expected to be manufactured in Ukraine and assembled in Macedonia, with engines, transmissions and communications upgrades, among others, to support interoperable NATO communications, operations and training.

"Defense Solutions has joined the team because the BTR-4 offers the best price-performance ratio on the market and because both Ukraine and Macedonia are important American allies in the global war on terror," Tim Ringgold, Defense Solutions chief executive, said in a statement.
