HDT announces acquisition of Vertigo

SOLON, Ohio, April 2 (UPI) -- Ohio-based Hunter Defense Technologies announced it has acquired aerospace and defense engineering-solutions developer Vertigo Inc.

HDT acquired California-based Vertigo primarily for its trademarked high-pressure AirBeam technology. HDT officials said the Vertigo purchase was also a move to expand the company's reach in the military expeditionary base-camp market.

The AirBeam technology, widely deployed by the U.S. Army's Force Provider Base Camp system, is a fiber-reinforced elastomeric composite that can be shaped to serve needed requirements.

"Vertigo's high pressure AirBeam shelter systems strategically complement our Base-X shelter product line to significantly broaden the scope of expeditionary products that we are able to offer to both our domestic and international customers," Vince Nardy, HDT chief executive, said in a statement.

"The Vertigo acquisition is significant, and we are excited to add them to the HDT family."
