Alion to support WSTIAC weapon systems

MCLEAN, Va., March 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has contracted Alion Science and Technology to help improve efficiency at the Weapon Systems Technology Information Analysis Center.

U.S. company Alion, which is currently under contract to operate the center, was awarded a task order to support the improvement of efficiency and accessibility for WSTIAC's scientific and technical information.

Under the $3.2 million task order, Alion will specifically support the design, development and evaluation efforts in managing WSTIAC weapon-systems technologies.

"Alion is developing and managing improved methods of information collection, analysis, transfer and standardization that will increase the usability and dissemination of accurate science and technical information," Chris Amos, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Technology Solutions Group, said in a statement.

"We are also helping WSTIAC provide the best flow of accurate and current information within the Defense Department and from the U.S. government to authorized customers."
