LOS ANGELES, March 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Aecom Technology Corp. to support repair work at Eareckson Air Station in Alaska.
U.S. company Aecom was awarded the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract from the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency. Under the $33 million task order, Aecom will repair the Eareckson airfield located on Shemya Island in Alaska.
The task order, which includes a runway replacement and other construction work, is part of a larger contract awarded to Aecom that has a ceiling of $4 billion.
"Aecom is proud to support this important program for the U.S. Air Force," John M. Dionisio, Aecom president and chief executive, said in a statement.
"Through our partnerships with local Alaska-based subcontractors, we are able to positively impact the economy by helping to sustain and create local jobs."
