Botswana installs ioimage tech at prison

HERZLIYA, Israel, March 23 (UPI) -- Botswana security authorities announced the installation of Israel-based ioimage's video-analytics technology at a prison in the country's capital of Gaborone.

The Botswana Department of Correctional Services installed ioimage's video analytics at the 22,500-square-mile First Offenders Correctional Facility in Gaborone in a move to upgrade the prison's perimeter-protection system.

Ioimage said its video-analytics system is designed to offer security authorities a kinetic energy-sensor technology that protects against potential intruders into the facility and monitors movement inside the prison to reduce potential incidents among inmates.

"The project is a great success," Nick Grange, technical director of C3 Shared Services, the installer and ioimage's business partner, said in a statement.

"Ioimage offered the ideal solution for this site. The system is extremely effective and simple to operate by staff with little or no high-technology knowledge."
