Battelle to inspect Army equipment

ABERDEEN, Md., March 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Battelle to provide logistics verification and validation support for inspections of Army equipment.

U.S. non-profit research organization Battelle was awarded the contract from the Army Sustainment Command's Field Logistics Readiness Centers.

Under the $22.3 million Quality Assurance and Materiel Management Services task order, Battelle will support the Army with equipment-inspection services as part of the Field and Installation Readiness Support Team program.

Officials said Battelle would also provide analysis and reviews of logistics and maintenance for tactical vehicles and other equipment to ensure combat readiness, among other services.

"This is a vital program that helps keep our military forces well-equipped and their logistics operations running smoothly," Dean Ertwine, head of Battelle's Army sector, said in a statement.

"Battelle is a leader in logistics supply-chain management and a premier supplier of force-modernization technology and services."
