Deed expands cooperation with Australia

CANBERRA, Australia, March 16 (UPI) -- Boeing has signed a revised deal with the Australian Defense Materiel Organization that identifies and expands cooperation on defense projects.

The deal, a revised Australian Industry Capability deed, lays the ground work for an extension of Australian Defense Force projects with Boeing, expanding on opportunities for Australian companies within Boeing's global network.

Officials said the revised Australian Industry Capability deed also establishes new mentoring cooperation between Boeing and Australian aerospace companies, the Australian Department of Defense reported.

"The revised AIC deed does not change the present arrangements but establishes a head of agreement, which enables other Australian Defense Force projects with Boeing to extend and build on the AIC Office initiative," Kerry Clarke, Defense Materiel Organization industry-division head, said in a statement.

"In addition, the Australian Industry Capability deed provides selected training and mentoring to Australian companies to enable them to be more globally competitive."
