TEMPE, Ariz., March 12 (UPI) -- U.S. companies VirTra Systems and Threat Dynamics have partnered to open a new law enforcement training facility in Oregon.
Threat Dynamics selected VirTra to integrate its IVR-300 and IVR-100 firearm simulator training platforms into a new regional firearm use-of-force immersive training facility in Hillsboro, Ore.
The strategic partnership, if successful, will result in an expansion to more than 11 law enforcement training facilities across the United States. Officials said the training center is part of an effort to provide advanced training for security authorities without police departments "depleting their budget and resources," according to a news release.
"VirTra is honored to be Threat Dynamics' strategic partner and the only supplier of firearms training systems for their groundbreaking facilities," Bob Ferris, VirTra president and chief executive, said in a statement.
"Now trainees from the smallest departments to the largest agencies can affordably train with the world's most realistic and effective firearms training simulators."
