PITTSBURGH, March 12 (UPI) -- U.S. company Inmedius announced it has been selected to supply its technical-data publishing technologies to support Insitu's unmanned aircraft system.

Boeing Co. subsidiary Insitu contracted Inmedius for its trademarked S1000D Publishing Suite designed to support the S1000D international specifications for military-aircraft technical-publications production.

Insitu said it would deploy the S1000D Publishing Suite to support the management of technical data for its ScanEagle UAS. The ScanEagle is a system deployed by the U.S. Defense Department and military agencies to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

"After evaluating several S1000D documentation applications, we determined that the Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite best met our requirements for an authoring environment at a very affordable price," Mary Margaret Evans, Insitu vice president for operations and sustainment, said in a statement.

"The suite will enable us to author, manage and publish S1000D-compliant technical data. Despite the complexity of the specification, we found the Inmedius Suite to be robust, intuitive and easy to use."
