PORT TOWNSEND, Wash., March 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army announced an access-control technology developed by Intellicheck Mobilisa Inc. has been certified for procurement.
U.S. company Intellicheck Mobilisa's Defense ID system has received an Armywide Authority to Operate certification.
The Defense ID system is already in use at three Army installations in the United States. With the announced certification, the system is now accredited for procurement by other Army facilities.
"We worked closely with the Army for certification and accreditation of this important product," Nelson Ludlow, Intellicheck Mobilisa chief executive, said in a statement.
"The Authority to Operate process is a true testament of the Army's commitment to the security of information, and we are extremely pleased that they recognize the strict security methods employed in our Defense ID system."
